Stay Informed Austin
Why This Website Exists...
Boiling it down to the most basic level, over the years, I have come to realize that the true power of Austin citizen votes on Bond Issues for Austin residents has been severely deminished through a simple, and apparently legal (though deceptive) process!

Through bundeling projects together and careful wording of Bond Projects ballots, voters are being subtly fooled into thinking they actually have a say (through their vote) in each specific project to be financed by the sale of Municiple Bonds.  However, when competing Bond Projects are bundeled together our opportunity to approve one without the other is effectively removed!

Consider:  Light Rail and Road Constrution together as "Transportation" Projects.

This effort is not aimed at any particular elected officials.  Therefore, you will see NO candidate endorsements nor candidate bashing.  This effort is strictly for the purpose of returning the power of the vote to all Austin voters!

My intent is to find a way to convince whomever is in office, that they must have our actual approval  before they can further burden the tax payers of Austin with more debt through tax supported bonds.  Especially for projects which the majority of tax-paying residents do not really want.
I'm not going to ask you to march or hold up a sign!

I will not ask you to sign a petition or take part in a signature drive...

I will not ask you to donate one dime...neither for this cause or any other cause!
My name is Phil Landrum.  My wife and I moved to Austin with our two children in 1971 to open a business.  Over the decades since, I've watched as various mayors and city council members have slowly change the governing system until the current practices have rendered Austin tax-payers near powerless.
